10 true facts about Spanish!

Ok so here are few things I've discovered about Spanish people and their culture since I've been living here!

1- Tell them you don't like their Spanish ham and they feel as if you've just insulted them.

2- They do have a nap (siesta) every day after lunch.

3- "Corridas" (bullfrighting) are for them a great show, and not an horrible, barbaric event (as I think it is).

4- They are kind of slow, they live with their parents until 30 without feeling bad about it and don't mind their parents paying them everything, if they have a boy/girlfriend they won't live together before years go by, they get married and have children very late.

5- Their TV programs are pretty bad and they only have few famous movies.

6- Spanish people are friendlier and more generous than in many countries (especially in the South).

7- Every time you ask for a drink in a pub they offer you a small dish of food (tapas)!

8- They hang out the washing under their windows, in a way that everyone walking in the street can see it.

9- They don't use Facebook but Tuenti (Spanish version of Facebook).

10- They love meeting up in a street around midnight. to drink alcohol, standing up even if it's 0 degree and you totally freeze.(botellon)

This is Spain xD

Insomnia

Insomnia is most often defined by an individual's report of sleeping difficulties. (Wikipedia)

5.07 a.m. after another hour struggling to fall asleep, I am up again, lights on, computer on... I don't get it! I have maybe 3-4 hours a day of sleeping but still feel good! Well, not always! During the day I just wish I could sleep but in the evening it's just i m p o s s i b l e! GOD!! that's awful! The worse in the fact that I don't sleep at night is that I am not even motivated to do something interesting or useful like studying... No I prefer to look around, wait for the time to go by, hoping to have someone online to whom I could talk. I am desperate!

Not sleeping makes you realize that one day, 24hours can be very long! For example yesterday I woke up at 9 so I have now been 20 hours awake, I have been bored most of this time. I guess that if I could have an activity or do something I like I'd be pleased to be awake such a long time, as I could enjoy doing my stuff but that's not the case.

I'm only 21 years old and I already suffer of insomnia, it's been like that for nearly 8 months now, it's worrying. Doctor just says that I might be stressed out or worried and give me medicine (which doesn't work) but does not give me a solution,  I guess I just need a miracle! My body aches, I have constant headaches, my mood is changing faster than usual, my eyes are irritated and I forget things easely. Am I going to end up like that already? pff it's annoying!

Need to find something to do of all this free time hehe

The satisfaction of having a job!

Many people complain that they are working a lot, that they don't have free time and that they are tired! I agree with them, work is tiring and is taking lots of precious time but the thing is that at least YOU are working! I have now been 6 months unemployed and I feel pretty bad about it. I'm looking for a job nearly every day, sending my CV, bringing it personally to possible employers but NOTHING! I don't even have an opportunity to show them what I am able to do.

If we forget the money problem (because obviously if you work you earn money, if you don't you are good to live in the street...) there is also the fact that working makes me feel complete. What I mean is that if I work I feel that I have a life, that I am doing something because these days, all I'm doing is being on the web, watching TV or simply staring at the walls... it sucks, there is no other way to say it. Lots of people envy me because they say I have a great life, lots of free time but no, I swear it's frustrating. I wish I had to wake up early to go to work, then go to uni and then at the end of the day enjoy a great hot meal, it would be a satisfying day. One thing important as well is that I don't want a shitty work, cleaning toilets or serving plates doesn't make you feel proud of what you do, I respect this kind of job, I personally did that for years but I wish that now I could have a proper job, not my dream job but something decent, you know!

All I wish is that people would stop complaining about working, working is part of life, ok it uses nearly all our personal time but without work you cannot do much, although if you are rich and have many activities to do.

If I had a job, I'd have money and if I had money I could travel, visit my family and friends much more, take some language course, go out a lot, buy some new clothes, buy proper food, not only pasta and rice, do activities... wouldn't I be happy with all that? well I know I would!
